NFL Picks Week 13

November 30, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Back to Average again I guess, because this past week I went 3-2.  I cannot believe that Denver let the 2-8 Oakland Raiders come into their house and blow them out but I guess thats life.  I have missed three games this week including the Cowboys game due to Thanksgiving, but I will just have to pick 5+ from the games left:

12:00PM CST FOX
(W) San Francisco 49ers
(L) Buffalo Bills

12:00PM CST CBS
(W) Baltimore Ravens
(L) Cincinnati Bengals

12:00PM CST CBS
(W) Miami Dolphins
(L) St. Louis Rams

3:15PM CST CBS
(L) Denver Broncos
(W) New York Jets

3:15PM CST CBS
(L) Kansas City Chiefs
(W) Oakland Raiders

I am 31-18 this season winning 63.2% of the time.

2008 Division 1-AA Playoff Bracket (Updated for Championship)

November 24, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Division 1-AA playoffs are here and boy do I have a treat for you.  I have photoshopped a bracket for you.  Check it out and tell me what you think and who you think is going to win!  Here is your 2008 Division 1-AA Playoff Bracket.  It looks to be a great match-up in the championship as I believe Montana will probably win the national championship.  James Madison tried to come back in the 4th quarter against Montana but just didnt have enough in them to finish the game.  They couldnt convert on a final 4th down.  One of the highlights of the game was JMU’s quarterback going airborn on 4th down to get into the endzone.  They are crazy up there at James Madison.  The problem that Montana has is Richmond can easily come back and win the game.  They were able to score 14 points in the 4th quarter to beat a better Northern Iowa squad.  I thought for sure the game was over after the huge 17 point 3rd quarter that Northern Iowa had.  Richmond is the real deal though.  Its going to be interesting to see how that whole situation turns out.

NFL Picks Week 12

I had another decent week going 7-2 losing the weird tie game between Philadelphia and didnt think that Peyton Hillis would show up against the Falcons but all in all it was a good weekend for NFL.  Week 12 has some crucial match-ups which could determine a lot of teams future in the playoffs:

12:00PM CST CBS
(L) Houston Texans (3-7)
(W) Cleveland Browns (4-6)

12:00PM CST FOX
(L) San Francisco 49ers (3-7)
(W) Dallas Cowboys (6-4)

12:00PM CST FOX
(W) Tampa Bay Bucaneers (7-3)
(L) Detroit Lions (0-10)

3:05PM CST CBS
(L) Oakland Raiders (2-8)
(W) Denver Broncos (6-4)

3:15PM CST FOX
(W) Washington Redskins (6-4)
(L) Seattle Seahawks (2-8)

After 12 Weeks of NFL football I am 28-16 winning 64% of the time.

Nuggets Waive Juwan Howard

November 8, 2008 by · 1 Comment

One of the good guys is done for.  35 year old Juwan Howard is no longer going to be apart of the Denver Nuggets as they have decided to let him go because of the Allen Iverson Trade.  I am not really sure how that works, but I dont think its right.  Although he has only played in 3 games, averaged 0.7 points per game, and 1.7 minutes, I think that the Nuggets are going to have to deal with injuries later on in the season and I would have expected Howard to step in at that point, but it doesnt look like thats going to happen.  Denver fans were wondering earlier this year if he was going to be able to stay on as he had stated that he wanted to make it to the playoffs again.  When I look at the Nuggets big men, I see Nene who is really soft and Kenyan Martin who is very injury prone and I wonder what they are going to have as a force in the middle.  I dont see anything and I dont see the Nuggets doing well this season.  They will be lucky to make the playoffs with teams like the Trailblazers and Hornets getting better and better every season.  I think this was a raw deal for Howard and I hope he ends up somewhere special.  He deserves it.

Fan gets some at UTEP game!

In my past, I have done some pretty crazy stuff in the weirdest places, but one place I never messed around at was national television.  You know how big of a football fan I am so I was flipping through my football channels and I came up on the UTEP game and they were playing Texas at UTEP at this beginning of the season…Anyways their stadium is cool because its built into a couple of small mountains and they were panning around the mountain and all the sudden I saw this chick and dude making out which caught by eye.  Well I guess it caught the announcers eye too because they started zooming in…and well…I guess I will just let you see for yourself…

NFL Picks Week 10

November 7, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

For the 3rd week in a row I am under 80% going 4-4 this past weekend. I was just not lucky on a couple of games that were too close for comfort. The Cowboys of course lost and I keep finding it hard to pick against them, but I am starting to second guess my picks when they play. Thank goodness they have a bye this weekend. I guess you could say that I feel good about my picks this week but I think that it could be another crazy weekend for NFL football. Without making you wait longer here are my picks:

(L) New Orleans Saints (4-4)
(W) Atlanta Falcons (5-3)

(W) Tennessee Titans (8-0)
(L) Chicago Bears (5-3)

(W) Miami Dolphins (4-4)
(L) Seattle Seahawks (2-6)

(L) St. Louis Rams(2-6)
(W) New York Jets (5-3)

(W) Carolina Panthers(6-2)
(L) Oakland Raiders(2-6)

Monday Night Football
(L) San Francisco 49ers (2-6)
(W) Arizona Cardinals (5-3)

I am 15-14 so far this season winning 51.7% of the time

Spurs Save 0-4 Start with Double Overtime Victory

November 6, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Going into last nights game, the Spurs we very bothered by the fact they hadnt gone 0-3 since 1973 when the franchise was still in the ABA League.   Tony Parker was very bothered by the situation as you could tell when he was playing.  He had 55 points last night including a last second shot from 20 ft to send it into a second overtime.  Al Jefferson made Tim Duncan look stupid with 2.5 seconds left in the game but after a timeout called by the Spurs, they were able to advance the ball past halfcourt.  They inbounded the ball to Tony Parker running to his right, he caught the ball, took one dribble left, puts the ball up with 1.2 seconds left…swish.  The 2nd overtime was the Tony Parker show  and the Spurs were able to pull off the victory 129-125 after two overtime periods.  Tony Parker ended the game with 55 points (second highest in career) and 10 assists.  Duncan had 30 points and 16 rebounds.  Jefferson and Miller were the leading scorers for the Timberwolves.  Jefferson had 30 points and 14 rebounds while Miller had 25 points and 7 rebounds.
