Week 2 Division 2 Football Scores

September 10, 2009

westtexasam

West Texas A&M drops out of the top 25 for the first time in two seasons with a loss to Central Oklahoma.  Things are not looking good for the Buffaloes as they have dropped the first two games of the season.  Texas A&M Kingsville, however, has had a huge turn around season winning their first two games of the season including opening up against Delta State.  What surprises me the most I think is how Northwest Missouri is still ranked ahead of Kingsville even though they have lost a game.  Their strength of schedule must be rediculous.  Abilene Christian is off to their usually slaughter of every team they place winning their first game against the #2 team in the nation at the time Northwest Missouri and then crushing this past weeks opponent (Fort Lewis) 58-10.  They seem to dismantle everything they come into contact with which isnt any surprise since University of Texas quarterback Colt Mccoy was about 4 inches from being at the school.  Anyways here are the scores in no particular order…the winner will be in bold:

Central Oklahoma  24
West Texas A&M (13)  17

Carson-Newman (25)  14
North Alabama (4)  31

Fort Lewis  10
Abilene Christian (2)   58

Grand Valley (1)  26
Indianapolis   10

Week 1 College Football Rankings Top 50

September 9, 2009

nflweek1So the first week of college football has already seen its plethora of upsets.   I am so excited for this college football season because Sam Bradford is already out of the Heisman watch and it looks like after Week 1 we already have it down to two candidates.  Tim Tebow and Colt Mccoy are both front runners for the Heisman Trophy this year with Tim Tebow leading slightly.  Jahvid Best is a somewhat close 3rd with Max Hall of BYU getting a huge boost after dismantling the Oklahoma Sooner defense.  Dez Bryant made the cover of the next Sports Illustrated but has not see much boost in the Heisman Watch.  Oklahoma State put a beat down on Georgia this past weekend which was personally my favorite game even though Oklahoma did lose to BYU.  With week 2 having some more important games I am excited to see what the rankings will be after this weekend.

2009-2010 Week 1 NFL Picks

September 7, 2009

nflweek1So here is the deal.  Most weeks during the NFL season they are going to be having games on Sunday and Monday (with random games on Saturday or Thursday).  I will be picking at least one game from each day each week.  I will try to pick at least 5 games each week.  I was 55-29 last season with a 65 percent winning percentage which is not bad for a first timer.  I am getting a slight jump on the first week but I figured I would do this now because I have so much more to do later.  Again, I apologize for not posting as much during the off-season.  I will be posting more here in the future, I promise.  Here are the games that I am going to pick from this first week.

2009-2010 Big 12 North and South Predictions

September 4, 2009

primary-big-12-with-banner-full-colorI will start out by reviewing what is in my opinion to be the roughest toughest part of any conference in the NCAA.  The 2nd place Longhorns look to take it all this season, but with the intensity of their schedule at this point could lead a sleeping giant in Oklahoma State.  I know that you boomer sooner fans out there are not going to like what I have to say, but I just dont think its your year boys.  I am hoping not at least.  WE (My fellow Longhorn fans) crushed you once and will do it again.  Some key games to look at this season are the following (all times are Central Standard Time):

  • September 5th
    • (9) Oklahoma State vs. (13) Georgia ABC at 2:30PM
  • September 12th
    • (22) Iowa at Iowa State 11:05AM
  • September 19th
    • (2) Texas at Texas Tech ABC at 7:00PM CST
    • (24) Nebraska at (7) Virginia Tech ABC at 2:30PM
  • October 8th
    • (24) Nebraska at Missouri ESPN at 8:00PM
  • October 17th
    • (2) Texas vs. (3) Oklahoma ABC at 11:00AM
  • October 24th
    • (3) Oklahoma at (25) Kansas TBA
  • October 31rst
    • (2) Texas vs. (9) Oklahoma State TBA
  • November 14th
    • (24) Nebraska at (25) Kansas TBA
  • November 28th
    • (9) Oklahoma State at (3) Oklahoma TBA

These are the games that I am looking for and will hopefully be able to attend all of them.  We will see though it depends on ticket prices and what not.  If I do, you can be sure that I will be uploading pictures soon after.  You know how we roll at SidelineBlog.  Anyways, if you guys know of any other games you would be interested in seeing let me know and I will try to find out how you can watch them when they come up.  Here are my quick predictions in case you were wondering.

  6. Kansas State

South
