Move over Minnesota, Notre Dame is here.
August 10, 2010
The all but sealed deal between the Minnesota Gophers and the Texas Longhorns is anything but at this point. The deal was that Texas and Minnesota would play each other in 2015 and 2016. I imagine that Minnesota had thought Christmas had come early when they thought they had this deal in the bag back in September 2009 because anyone who plays the Longhorns gets rich. While this would have been the first time the two teams had gotten together was just a few years after the Great Depression back in 1936. While this may come as a disappointment to Longhorn fans, I have heard rumors of the Minnesota series being replaced by playing Notre Dame in the same seasons. We have all heard about how Notre Dame has been wanting to ramp up their schedule in order to boost rankings and viewership. It looks like they have taken a swipe at Minnesota while trying to increase their ratings. Good thing I am not a Gopher fan or I might be mad. Maybe they will get their shot in the Alamo Bowl if Texas craters this season behind Garrett Gilbert. As a Lohghorn fan, I look forward to whooping up on Notre Dame in the future. Especially if Will Muschamp is at the helm.
2009-2010 Big 12 North and South Predictions
September 4, 2009
I will start out by reviewing what is in my opinion to be the roughest toughest part of any conference in the NCAA. The 2nd place Longhorns look to take it all this season, but with the intensity of their schedule at this point could lead a sleeping giant in Oklahoma State. I know that you boomer sooner fans out there are not going to like what I have to say, but I just dont think its your year boys. I am hoping not at least. WE (My fellow Longhorn fans) crushed you once and will do it again. Some key games to look at this season are the following (all times are Central Standard Time):
- September 5th
- (9) Oklahoma State vs. (13) Georgia ABC at 2:30PM
- September 12th
- (22) Iowa at Iowa State 11:05AM
- September 19th
- (2) Texas at Texas Tech ABC at 7:00PM CST
- (24) Nebraska at (7) Virginia Tech ABC at 2:30PM
- October 8th
- (24) Nebraska at Missouri ESPN at 8:00PM
- October 17th
- (2) Texas vs. (3) Oklahoma ABC at 11:00AM
- October 24th
- (3) Oklahoma at (25) Kansas TBA
- October 31rst
- (2) Texas vs. (9) Oklahoma State TBA
- November 14th
- (24) Nebraska at (25) Kansas TBA
- November 28th
- (9) Oklahoma State at (3) Oklahoma TBA
These are the games that I am looking for and will hopefully be able to attend all of them. We will see though it depends on ticket prices and what not. If I do, you can be sure that I will be uploading pictures soon after. You know how we roll at SidelineBlog. Anyways, if you guys know of any other games you would be interested in seeing let me know and I will try to find out how you can watch them when they come up. Here are my quick predictions in case you were wondering.

- Kansas
- Missouri
- Colorado
- Iowa State
- Kansas State
South
- Texas
- Oklahoma State

- Baylor
- Texas Tech
- Texas A&M
2008-2009 BCS Bowl Predictions
December 7, 2008
I thought I would give my shot at predicting an early outcome of the BCS Bowl games. Now understand that this is not permanent nor true, just how I figure things will turn out (all times are Central Standard Time) and just so you know the team I think will win are in Bold:
Thursday January 1rst, 2009
Rose Bowl 3:30PM ABC (HD)
Penn State vs. USC
Orange Bowl 7:00PM FOX (HD)
Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati
Friday, January 2nd
Sugar Bowl 7:00PM FOX (HD)
Alabama vs. Utah
Monday, January 5th
Fiesta Bowl FOX (HD)
Texas vs. Ohio State
Thursday January 8th
BCS Championship Game FOX (HD)
Oklahoma Sooners 47
Florida Gators 22
So I bet you are asking where this is going to leave Texas Tech…This will more than likely leave them with the January 2nd game of the Cotton Bowl versus Ole Miss possibly?

College Football – Week 10 – Great Weekend!
November 6, 2008
I am very excited about the match-ups this weekend in college football. There are a lot of big games including two on Thursday which is a first for the season. I put the Texas game in there only because I am excited to see how they bounce back after last weeks loss to Tech. Plus, Robert Griffin is no push over at Quarterback of the Baylor Bears. I believe the Alabama game is going to be a good one since its in LSU and I don’t think Alabama comes out of that one in one piece. They might be able to inch out a win possibly, but I don’t think they will have all their starters once the game is over. Its going to be a rough game that I am excited to be able to see. I have missed a lot of key games this season, but I am very excited about this weekend and I think you should be too.

College Football – Week 9 – Games You Should Watch
October 31, 2008
all times in Central Standard Time
Saturday November 1rst
- 11:00AM ESPN2 Northwestern at #17 Minnesota
- 1:00PM ESPN Game Plan/ESPN 360 #18 Tulsa at Arkansas
- 2:30PM CBS #8 Florida at #6 Georgia
- 7:00PM ABC #1 Texas at #7 Texas Tech
As you can see there is a whole buffet of games stretched out throughout all of Saturday so you can guess where I will be during that time. If you are wondering what the bold numbers mean, its basically who I see winning the game more than likely. I would not bet on this, because I am Texas biased, but I just don’t think Texas Tech is that great this season. I think this season is just like any other season just playing Texas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State all at the end of the summer. I am very much looking forward to the Florida-Georgia game because of the speed that both teams bring to the game. I would look for Tim Tebow to run for 100+ yards in this game and I don’t think Georgia’s defense can handle the high powered offense that Florida brings to the table. I see Florida winning by a couple of touchdowns and they are going to get ahead early. I think the Tulsa game is intriguing because I want to see Tulsa play against an SEC team. Arkansas has been playing better than early on in the season and it will be interesting to see how they fare against Tulsa and their offense that has been putting ridiculous numbers up this season.
