D. Navarro hits an RBI single to get a win over the Boston Red Sox.
Andy Sonnanstine pitched 6 hard fought innings tonight as the young Tampa Bay Rays were looking anything but greenies against the seasoned Boston Red Sox. The Rays fought back in the 7th inning with a Carlos Pena homerun. Dioner Navarro was able to get Tampa Bay a game winning RBI single in the bottom on the 9th inning for a 2-1 victory over the “not so” Boston Red Sox. If you ask me, I think the pitiful part about all of this is, that the Tampa Bay stadium will probably not be filled when they play again tomorrow. If it is at full capacity, its because half of stadium is full of Sox fans. For a stadium that holds 36,000 people, they are only averaging about 21,500 people per. I feel bad only because it costs me an arm and a leg to go see the Braves in action. I guess it goes to show that Floridians are just not interesting in baseball anymore. The team with the second lowest yearly salary payout looks like it could take their youngsters to the playoffs more than likely and even possibly their first world series.
