Heading into Conference Championship week we are seeing one of the final polls that will come out. On Sunday, teams will be picked for the NCAA tournament. If they want to make sure they get in, they really need to win their conference in a lot of cases. Some of the big 5 conferences have teams who are just vying for a higher seed but for the most part most of the smaller schools need to win their conference tournament in order to get an automatic bid into the tournament. There are 68 teams who will play in this years tournament with the very first round consisting of 4 play-in games. These games are used to wet our beak before the first round (and to give us more time to fill out our brackets. They will be played March 15-16 next week once the teams are picked.
