The race for first place in the West is heating up in the NBA now.  While Golden State has had a comfortable lead the entire season, the Warriors have lost the last two out of three games. The Spurs on the other hand have won 12 out of the last 14 games. The other surprise it that the last two losses the Warriors have had have come at home where they were undefeated before last week.  Stephen Curry and the Warriors are not only chasing first place but the best record in NBA history and beating the 1996 Chicago Bulls (with Michael Jordan).

The Golden State Warriors opened up with a 20-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.  The beginning of the second quarter they started on a 9-0 run before the Spurs got the first points of the quarter. Once the Warriors go up by double digits its difficult to come back but if there was ever a team that could do so I would think that Spurs could do it.  Curry started out with a lack luster performance once again scoring only 4 points in the first quarter.  The Warriors outscored the Spurs 32-25 in the second quarter to lead 52-40 at halftime.  Curry only had 7 points at the time while Barnes once again led all scorers (along with Kawhi Leonard) with 14 points.  The last thing I saw was that the Warriors were up 17 with 9 minutes left in the third quarter.  These games come on so late on the East Coast that I am going to watch the rest of the game in bed.  So far so good for the Warriors though.
