So something interesting happened last night and it’s something I would have told you couldn’t happen. The NFL decided to cancel the very first “game” of the season last night just hours before the game was supposed to start. The reason for this is probably the most interesting aspect of the story. The statement read like this: “Due to safety concerns with the condition of the playing surface in Canton, tonight’s game between the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers has been cancelled.” What it comes down to is the fact they had a concert on this field the night before and used the wrong paint which ended up causing slick spots at midfield and in the end zones.
What does this mean for football fans like us? Well, now we have to wait an extra 4 days for football to start back up. I realize that these preseason games (Hall of Fame Game in particular) aren’t taken very seriously but this was an extra game for those who are trying to make the team to show what they have. Those are the real victims here. Luckily we just need to wait two more days before we can get our fix of football with a nice 6 game line up. In fact we will have NFL football Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
So instead of being able to see this years Hall of Fame game, we thought we would give you last years haha:
