The PGA Championship was this past weekend in case anyone noticed. My guess is there are quite a few more people watching golf than normally do this time of year. The compressed schedule due to the Olympic Games in Rio this year have made it a very interesting year for golf. We now have to wait over 250 days for the next Major Golf Tournament to happen.

Jason Day went into the tournament in second place overall trailing behind just Dustin Johnson. He is now 34 points ahead of Dustin Johnson which is not a lot considering third place (Adam Scott) is 672 points behind Jason Day. Jordan Spieth remains in 4th place trailing Day by 770 points. Something interesting is Jimmy Walker who won the PGA Championship this past weekend jumped from 50th place all the way up to 14th. He also moved up to 11th on the list of PGA Tour Money Leaders.
Other key players involved in the PGA Championship were:
- Phil Mickelson who finished three under par and tied for 33rd place
- Lee Westwood finished seven over par and 85th place.
Key players that did not make the cut include:
- Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy, J.B. Holmes, Vijay Singh, Sergio Garcia, Matt Kuchar, David Toms, Dustin Johnson, and John Daly.
